Rob Ziegler's Stand

Rob Ziegler, City Council Member in Boerne, Texas

During his third term, Rob intends to remain focused on these priorities:

  • Fiscal responsibility – “I keep a careful eye on the budget, especially debt service. I’m from the school that says if we can’t afford it, we don’t build it. The number one concern in my district is the ever-increasing property valuations. Rising property values are good news for every homeowner. But it’s not good news when the need for city revenue creates artificial pressure to raise property tax valuations. And it’s definitely bad news when excessive municipal spending forces tax rate increases. I support fair, conservative, tax assessments, carefully controlled tax rates, and responsible city budgets.”
  • Transportation and mobility – “Boerne needs a transportation system and services that provide accessibility and mobility for residents, businesses, and the economic development of the region, and that help sustain our environment and quality of life.”
  • Careful growth – “Our community is sought out by visitors and new residents alike for its historic fabric, distinctive architecture, and defining landscapes. Our citizens want future development to safeguard the cultural heritage of Boerne, and to respect and preserve the character of our neighborhoods.”
  • Continued Citizen Outreach – “People throughout Boerne have trusted me and relied upon me these last four years to be their eyes, ears, and voice inside City Hall. I have made informed decisions by listening to them and inviting their participation. I encourage the citizens in district 3 to share their concerns with me; I will see that they get a hearing at City Hall.”
